Alexandra Grant's Deceptive Advertising

From the blog "grantLOVE Project - An Investigative Eye on Charity Fraud." Post # 3 List of Items and Profit Distribution, if Any (Post #3)

https://grantloveproject-caution.blogspot.com/2020/12/i-am-going-to-attempt-to-illustratesthe.html

The author made the post on December 26, 2020 & she looked through 54 items on grantlove.com & describe what they are, the price and the statement of charitable donation. The author notes the variation of words used like 100% of profits go towards charity, % of the profits go to, a portion of the profits go to, and the usage of the word “benefit” but no clear indication of how. The author shows that out of 54 items, only 3 lists as 100% going to charity, 39 items have undetermined portion going to charity and 12 items have no statement of portion going to charity.

Direct quote from the blog which summarizes the deception of Alexandra Grant:

"For Alexandra Grant to advertise grantLOVE Project as a non-profit, when there are only 3 out of the 54 items listed for sale there that would qualify as non-profit charitable purchases, is blatant false advertising.

In order for her to be legally able to use comparisons and/or references to well known non-profit charities (Newman’s Own and Red Campaign) in her advertising, ALL OF THE ITEMS ON THE grantLOVE PROJECT WEBSITE MUST LIST 100% OF PROFITS GO TO CHARITY.

What she is doing with regards to grantLOVE Project is PROHIBITED by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) as it is considered deceptive advertising... “

The FTC statement is in the 5th screenshot and the assertion that the way Alexandra Grant advertises is illegal in the 6th screenshot.

I will discuss the rest of post 3 in another post due to Instagram word limits and there are a lot of information to digest and discuss already.
