the fading of color

Another copy of Bruce Conner's work by Alexandra Grant. Black and white, the fading of color, darker or lighter. After knowing who she aspired to be, we can clearly see everything now. The question is why she couldn't admit to the inspiration? In term of the shadow photos, she can't brag about how she was a genius to even think of it or see it as it is. That BS about only Keanu can be the one to produce such work and movement, just look at the similarity between Conner's Angel and he didn't even have to use Keanu Reeves. Bruce uses his imagination and talent. Grant uses people.

The title of Bruce Conner's work is "HOMAGE TO JAY DE FEO".

Poetry

someone without an ounce of imagination

Seriously, why did anyone think it was acceptable to use these photos in a book, let alone to accompany poetry? We have an imagination and can imagine it so much better than a black and white drawing of a frog that is supposed to represent a hot sorrow bath or a box with a sad face to mean a despair room. This is the work of someone without an ounce of imagination. Oh right, that's why there has been so much plagiarizing.

Shadow Ban

I have been shadowbanned. Just when I have so many more LieS to post regarding Alexandra Grant. No worry, plenty of people will repost. Or I will just post about kittens and yellow flowers for a while. I was supposed to write a poem about being Shadow Ban but that Christmas dinner throws a wrench on my creativity. Time to get back to it.

Nudogramms by Floris Neususs

From the 1960s by Floris Neususs " - a contemporary experimental German photographer known for his use of camera-less photography (photograms). His most famous works are the Nudogramms from the late 1960s, in which he exposed a nude figure directly onto photographic paper “Photograms don’t show us what’s beyond the visible, but they give us a hint of it,” Neusüss has said. “It is true that the subject resting on the photo-sensitive paper presents its reverse side to be recorded, the side that is in shadow, the shadow cast by the object itself. This intimate physical connection inscribes into the paper, and this, if you are open to it, is the real fascination of photograms: the tension between the hidden and the revealed.” Born on March 3, 1937 in Remscheid Lennep, Germany, he studied at a number of schools throughout Germany before completing his education at the School of Art in Berlin, where he studied under the revered photographer Heinz Hajek-Halke. Graduating in 1960, Neusüss went on to teach at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kassel while beginning to experiment with photograms. The artist continues to live and work in Kassel, Germany. Today, his works are held in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago, among others." Description from this website: http://www.artnet.com/artists/floris-neus/

For Alexandra Grant not to be aware of this type of work is a shame or maybe she knows but wants to pretend that she creates something special with her shadow of Keanu Reeves. What a joke.

Inspiration or Plagiarism?

Reposting the finding of @robinwood_thereturn

it’s not even CONFIRMED that Reeves and Grant are even DATING

I love Gossip Cop.

https://www.gossipcop.com/ryan-seacrest-shayna-taylor-propose-valentines-day/

This article is to bust the BS regarding Seacrest and his GF’s engagement but they decided to add a tidbit about our Keanu and that fake feminist, artist-want-to-be plagiarist, Alexandra Grant.

This is what they wrote: "Gossip Cop busted a story claiming that Sandra Bullock was throwing an engagement party for Keanu Reeves. The publication insisted that Bullock was giving her former co-star a party to celebrate his upcoming nuptials with his SUPPOSED fiancé, Alexandra Grant. We dispelled this SILLY story, it’s not even CONFIRMED that Reeves and Grant are even DATING, much less engaged."

I capitalized the important words…

MarfaInvitational Blocking Truth

Another comrade just got blocked by @marfainvitational for sharing the truth. What's new? These people are a bunch of greedy blood thirsty business people selling lies and take arts so they can take their fancy vacation. The Universe will not let them get away with it.

Reeves and X

On the question of when Keanu Reeves started using X with his signature, it looks like forever.

a simple act of defiant

A beautiful article written about Bruce Conner, showing a man who was a quirky genius.

https://www.poetryfoundation.org/harriet/2011/06/sincerely-bruce-conner-a-final-work-in-progress

The story that stands out as I read the article and on other websites was that before moving to Mexico, he painted the word LOVE on the street over the word slow. The word was fading and the city refused to repaint so he painted the word love over it. The story is endearing and beautiful. A simple act of defiant but it is also meant to show us what is important, LOVE.

Then the opposite of Bruce Conner is Alexandra Grant, the person who has tried to copy his work in so many ways, starting with his shadow photos to his inkblot drawing. And of course, Love is an important part of her business scheme, trademarking it, selling it on different merchandises by using a fake love story with another iconic man, Keanu Reeves.

Alexandra Grant is not only the opposite of what Bruce Conner is as an artist, but she also stands for greed and deception, using love for profit. In this time of pandemic, she printed the word love on a piece of paper and sell it for $150 and since it is not selling, she now tried to get back what she spent by selling it for the Covid-19 cause. For anyone who buys a piece of paper with the word love on it from Alexandra Grant, $93 goes to ProjectAngelfood and the rest goes back to pay the “printing cost”. She comes out even and it’s supposed to make her look like she’s an artist who cares about other people. Most of us see it for what it is, a scheme to make back the money she has spent on printing it. It is also questionable that a piece of paper with the word love on it would cause $57 to print? But when it comes to Alexandra Grant and her money making scheme, nothing is surprising anymore. No lie is too big for this woman.

A Closer Look

@robinwood_thereturn compares the inkblot of Bruce Conner and the painting of Alexandra Grant. It definitely looks plagiarized.

X for Cancellation

Alexandra Grant has confessed that she has an infinity for the letter X and even named the vanity press publishing company with X for X artists Books. Here's an X by Bruce Conner called Cancellation. A powerful statement.

A description on the meaning behind the X from the Norton Simon website:

https://www.nortonsimon.org/art/detail/P.1967.20.074

This print, one of the earliest examples of conceptual printmaking, reflects Bruce Conner’s somewhat strained fellowship at Tamarind. Its subject refers to Tamarind’s editioning conventions, which insisted, among other stipulations, that once a stone had been cancelled, it could not be used to make any more impressions, and that each print had to be signed (Conner opted to use his thumbprint instead). When Conner wanted to edition a cancelled lithograph, Calvin Goodman, a business consultant who was overseeing the shop while June Wayne was abroad, stopped production. Goodman was clearly ill equipped to handle Conner’s conceptual explorations, allegedly confronting the artist by exclaiming, “What is this crap you’re trying to put over here?” When Wayne returned, she was amused and respectful of the artist’s boundary-pushing, and she immediately ordered production to continue.

Inkblot Copy

In researching Bruce Conner, I came across his inkblot drawings which have been described as tiny perfect details with amazing control. I had previously post a drawing of Alexandra Grant called “self” which most people saw as an inkblot of the Rorschach test and a creepy resemblance to the Mothman. Now that we know Grant copied Bruce Conner's shadow photos, I see her drawing of “self” as nothing more than a copy of his inkblot drawing. I am including some photos of Conner's inkblot so you decide for yourself if Grant copies his inkblot drawing or not. More similarity to Conner is coming up.

A Poor Imitation

A quick comparison of the first sentence in Wikipedia between Bruce Conner and Alexandra Grant and the words that stand out to me of all the things he has done and that Grant is also trying to do are film, drawing, sculpture, painting, collage and photography. After seeing that her shadow photos are a poor imitation of his, I cannot help but thinks that Conner was someone that Grant tried to emulate. Just like Reeves was a target, Grant was aiming to be like Conner but she didn't want people to know because we would see that she is nothing but a poor imitation of everything that he was.

There is no way that Grant has never heard of Bruce Conner or has not seen his shadow photos. This man is ICONIC. He was living in San Francisco and was a big part of the the counterculture revolution. His work was in the San Francisco Museum. Grant received her MFA, Drawing and Painting from the California College of Arts and Crafts, which is in San Francisco. I bet that he was a topic of discussion in her classes and she was probably required to visit or see his work. He was still alive when she was getting her MFA.

Bruce Conner had also lived in Mexico, just another thing Grant has in common with and would have heard of him.

I'm beyond speechless that she pretends she receives inspiration for Shadow from a quote that has nothing to do with the photos or Keanu Reeves' poetry. After all the lies she has told, I have no doubt that everything she has said about Shadow is nothing but lies. She even contradicts herself about the process for the photos in interviews. I will discuss that in another post.

some morbid thoughts to ponder

The year is 2008. Alexandra Grant is scheming to meet Keanu Reeves or have met him already by this point? I'm not sure. But there's two other males who will become important in the life of this "feminist artist in her own rights". Both of these men died in the year 2008. Bruce Conner and Paul Newman. That's the year, she created GrantLove, which is supposed to follow the lateral philanthropy of Newman's brand but it does not.

And of course, we just discovered that her photos for "Shadow" is a complete copy of Bruce Conner's work. But wait, she has so much more in common with him than just his photos.

Thanks S for sending this screenshot and the other ones that are upcoming in future posts. S notes that Grant seems to have a fascination with Death and copying those who died or trying to gain fame from a death, Lena's tombstone and those tabloids stories of saving Keanu from the loss of his stillborn daughter and her mother. Just some morbid thoughts to ponder.

Bruce Conner vs. Alexandra Gran

Bruce Conner vs. Alexandra Grant. Bruce is the master. Grant is the plagiarist. Got it? Good.

Thanks to @robinwood_thereturn for the discovery.

Alexandra Grant. A plagiarist. A narcissist.

Alexandra Grant. A plagiarist. A narcissist. A person suffering from delusion of grandeur. A person who wants the glory all for herself. Just look at the language used in describing in her photos for Shadow which is a poor copy of Bruce Conner's work. "Beguiled even the master printers in Göttingen." "no one at Steidl knew how the images were made." I hope that also means they were not aware of the plagiarism and if there is a lawsuit, neither Steidl not Keanu are responsible.

Let's give the credit of plagiarism all to Ms. Grant. Thank you.

Under the Volcano

Alexandra Grant and her fans are propagating that the inspiration for the photos in the book "Shadow" comes from a quote from Malcolm Lowry's 1947 novel "Under the Volcano": "I have no house only a shadow. But whenever you are in need of a shadow, my shadow is yours." Certainly, this story can make her seem deep and well-read but in truth, I am going to say it was Bruce Conner that "inspired" the idea behind taking photos of shadow.

It is uncanny, the similarities between her interest and work to his, which border on pure plagiarism. I will discuss in a few more posts.

Unfollowing and Following Kohn Gallery

Reposting to showcase the talent of @blue.bird73 and how quickly she came up with a purposeful photo and also to ask the pertinent question on why Alexandra Grant unfollow Kohn Gallery after I made a post noticing that she follows Kohn gallery and also discussed how her works resemble Bruce Conner. I was being nice but what I should say instead of resembling is plagiarism, again.

Oh wait, you just follow again... Lol

Ochi Gallery

What will Ochi Gallery do after learning that Alexandra Grant plagiarizes the work of Bruce Conner and pretends to be inspired by someone else?

Bruce Conner

The idea of shadow was already done by someone first and better than Alexandra Grant. The work of Bruce Conner.

Kohn Gallery

Interesting that Alexandra Grant follows the Kohn Gallery which holds the trust for Bruce Conner and we just discovered her photos for Keanu Reeves' book "Shadow" bares a striking resemblance to the work of Bruce Conner's shadow.

Promotion Scheme using Covid-19

A comment in Lipstick Alley regarding Alexandra Grant and her business promotion using Covid-19. This charity donation is not an act of charity. It is a promotion scheme as she is getting a tax deduction and her name brand is getting exposure through various articles. Who in their right mind thinks that printing the word love on a piece of cardboard box and charge $150 for it, especially in a time when people are losing their job and are afraid to leave their house. Please donate directly to ProjectAngelFood for those who can. If you need the word Love written on a piece of paper, give your four-year-old child, niece or nephew a piece of construction paper and show them how to write the word LOVE on it. It's a project idea for you in this time of social distancing.

Liar. Liar. Liar.

Outright lies, self-inflation, and delusion of grandeur are characteristics of Alexandra Grant. She updated her resume when we called her out on her lies. She paid for articles that help spread her lies. British Vogue wrote about her teaching at a succession of eminent California colleges. Not true. Let's quickly look at what she wrote under "TEACHING" on her resume. In 2019, she listed herself as a Visiting Artist, Vermont Studio Center, Johnson, VT. That gig was a one-hour lecture. Under teaching is also Syracuse and Pacific Northwest but from the description, it is an advisor position, not a teaching position. This position provides guidance to a student (or multiple students) as that student(s) progresses through their education/degree. I don't think they qualify as teaching, but what else is new for Ms. Grant.  Self-inflation. Delusion of grandeur. Outright lies. Liar. Liar. Liar. What else are you lying about?
