The End of her Scheming

A few days ago, when I posted Alexandra Grant’s art piece “Self (you give your self away), I had not noticed that my phone cut off the last word. Away. Work of arts are meant for analysis, especially the symbols found in it. Our interpretation and the meaning we give either make it stronger or weaken it. Our words are a magic spell for casting joy or to undue an evil intent. Someone shared with me that she noticed the Alpha (Α) and omega (Ω) symbol in the painting, except that in her painting, the omega symbol (Ω) appears first and it is upside down and then Alpha (Α). Whether on purpose or not, it is asking for an interpretation.

In the New Testament Book of Revelation, God says, “I am Alpha and Omega,” and for Christianity, this phrase is interpreted to mean that Jesus has existed for all eternity or that God is eternal. He is the beginning and the end of all things. In the Greek alphabet, alpha is the first letter and omega is the last.

For Grant, the end is the beginning. The end of being an unknown artist. But unbeknownst to her, the end of being unknown leads to the ultimate truth. The beginning and awakening of those around her that she has fooled and blinded with lies and manipulation. That’s my words. That’s the power I give to her painting. It is a prediction of the end of her years of scheming. Her backward spell is turning against her (self). So mote it be.
