Ode to Happiness

Comparing two statements made by Alexandra Grant on Ode to Happiness.

Article from 2011 - https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/sad-keanu-reeves-pens-book-204613 “Our friend [editor Janey Bergam] sat at Keanu’s house one night listening to wonderfully sad self-pitying songs,” Grant explains of how the concept came to fruition. “Keanu, in the spirit of poking fun at them, began to write a poem.” Bergman then brought the text to the artist, who spent six months turning it into a book. It was later presented to Reeves as a gift, which he loved so much that he wanted to share it with the world.
Her quote in the British Vogue. “The book was made as a surprise, by me, for Keanu, as a private gift,” confirms Grant. “All our friends sitting in the room got the giggles when I gave it to him – they said, ‘Please publish it!’ So that’s how we got into publishing.” Janey Bergam is left out of this article and other interviews that Grant has done since. The poem was written for Janey and it was Janey’s idea to create a book, a private gift from Janey and Grant was asked or hired by Janey to draw and I remember a drawing where people couldn’t tell if it was a cow or a bathtub.

In the interview in 2011, it was Keanu who wants to share it with the world but in the British Vogue comment, Grant states it was their “friends’ idea” and that’s how they got into publishing. Publishing a book makes a person an author. Getting into publishing is when they opened Xartistsbooks in 2017. She can’t keep her story straight. Contradicting her own words. Lying when there's a video of Keanu speaking on how Ode to Happiness came about and she is lying to make herself seemed like the one that made it happen. To ask, "what the fuck is wrong with that woman" is an understatement. Her brain must be infected with a virus that makes being honest impossible.

Janey – please speak up. Don’t let her steal your truth and inspiration.
