La Cucaracha

Someone who attend X Artists Book event on zoom on October 24, 2020 shared this interesting tidbits with me:

There was no open dialogue, just the 4 of them speaking. But it was very interesting how her friend inadvertently outed her. This happens towards the end of the video, a very uncomfortable 3 or 5-minute back-and-forth. It was cringe-worthy.

Miss Kirby is speaking about how she met up with Grant, I believe it was, in California. Miss Kirby evidently has worked with miss Grant before so she informed Grant that she was working with Etel Adnan on an artist's book. Miss Grant had stated emphatically that she was going to publish it. Miss Kirby told her she was going to Paris to attend a dinner that miss Adnan was hosting. Grant stated she would be in Paris around the same time. An invitation was never extended to miss Grant to attend that dinner and Miss Kirby was surprised to see her at miss Adnan's apartment.

I can't remember if Kirby stated that she was surprised or admired Grant's tenacity. Grant let her finish and said she didn't remember it that way. The invitation was extended over dinner. When miss Kirby kept insisting that she hadn't and that it wasn't extended that's when Grant came in with the “there must have been wine.”
