Love is Mysterious

I agree with @entylawyer that “love is mysterious.” I would like to add that Love is beautiful. It's inspiring. It makes you a better person. It brings out the best in you. Ok, I ran out of cliché but it's the truth. Love is a wonderful thing with wings. I'm sure some famous poet said it?

“Love is an emerald.
Its brilliant light wards off dragons
On this treacherous path.”

--Rumi

WHATEVER is going between Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant is not love. The moment you look at a person and your connection to them as “an opportunity for good,” there is no room for love or anything good to grow in it.

The paparazzi kiss that we have been expecting happens this past weekend. It was accompanied by the worst kind of acting, a D-rated porn show. Instead of a love story, it's a PR stunt gone wrong. You have the female lead looking into the camera as if she was a porn star performing for an audience and the male lead walked away from the kiss as if he had been sucked by a Dementor (yes, I'm a Harry Potter fan).

What's strange to me is that Keanu Reeves knows how to look at someone and make that person seems like she is the only person in the room. Before I knew that Kim was his sister, I thought she was his girlfriend. He looks at her like he was in love with her. But then I saw the same thing with other people, especially his co-stars, Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, and Carrie-Anne Moss. He looks smitten. He looks at Tiger Chen like he is in love with him. He looks at his Mom like he's in love with her. Then I realized the way Reeves translates love is by giving the full attention of a lover and he always looked in love with people he loves and admires. But with Alexandra Grant, he looks like a straight man forced to perform fellatio, disgusted and depressed.

Ok, so I gave them tips to improve their performance on their next PR outing. Go ahead, look at Alexandra Grant and pretend that you are looking at Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Carrie-Anne Moss your sister Kim or Tiger Chen.
