Illuminating Behaviors

I receive multiple DM regarding a tweet on how lucky Keanu is for dating Alexandra Grant and what an incredible artist she is. This tweet is written by Porochista Khakpour, the author that AG recently praised on her IG account. Seem like another “I scratch your back, you scratch mine,” just like the hairstylist writing that Keanu was a lucky man to be AG boyfriend. @robinwood_thereturn tweets a response that AG is not an incredible artist and I respond with a photo collage of Keanu with the caption “Does that look like a lucky man? Depressed, lost, empty are some of the words his fans have described him when he is seen in close proximity to #alexandragrant, the artist who steps on the graves of dead babies for fame, baby Lena and Ava Archer Reeves.” Khakpour blocked us and my DM continues to blow up regarding Khakpour, the negative reviews in Amazon, on Reddit, the shady Go Fund Me account and a twitter thread where Khakpour insults overworked publicists for not doing their job. The responses from the publishing world is eye-opening. Having read the reviews on Amazon and the twitter exchange, I would not read this book as it seems to be written by someone using her illness to be vicious and demanding, instead of someone who has become humble and compassionate because of it.

The situation illuminates a pattern of behaviors from Grant that we have seen repeatedly, using baby Lena's tomb, the death of Ava Reeves, cancer victims connection to gray hair, representation and minority in the movie industry, and somebody else tragedy for her own gain, to make herself look a certain way, like a sensitive person who cares about the plight of others. In reality, she has nothing to say for herself and uses others to create a narrative of who she is because she is absolutely a nobody without Keanu, without Lena, without Ava, without Antigone, without name dropping and commenting on other people’s tragedies. She is drawn to tragedy because it fills her with self-pride and builds up her ego while promoting her lack of character. A picture of a very shallow person has emerged from her effort.
