The Sham and Shame of Xabs

In the article “An Idiosyncratic Selection of California Art Presses”, published February 25, 2020, a correction was made stating that “A previous version of this article stated that Jessica Fleischmann was a co-founder of X Artists Books. This is INCORRECT and has been amended.

When it comes to the vanity press, X artist Books, shady describes it best. People have admitted that they bought multiple books to get Keanu Reeves’s signature and the Artist’s Prison was unreadable and a pretentious piece of crap. If the idea was to produce mediocre art books, then xabs has achieved it.

In the L.A. times article published on JULY 19, 2017, it listed Jessica Fleischmann as a founder. Lies were told either for the L.A. times article or the new article in hyperallergic.com. Why can’t founders of Xabs be honest?

I am aware that Jessica is no longer with Xabs but the title as a founder does not disappear. If she was a founder, then the new article should say clearly that Jessica was a founder but is no longer with Xabs.

The relationship status of Grant and Reeves is also in question and lies has been told as in a previous article with the NYT, they sell themselves as business partner but now her pal jennifertilly claims that they have been dating for several years and which coincides with NYT article. For a business that cannot keep its founders or personal relationship status straight, it is a sham and a shame that it exists.
For a woman who claims to be a feminist, she doesn't seem to like sharing or giving credit to where it belongs, stealing the story of Ode to Happiness from Janey Bergam, and now trying to erase Jessica from the title of co-Founder of Xabs.
